The song ‘Lets soak up the sun’ should have had the next line saying ‘thereafter struggle against the sunburn”! As much as we ladies love to have fun in the sun, we completely hate the sunburns. And on some of us, the suntan lotions and sunscreens hardly show any effect.
There are still the shadow lines and an initial tenderness of the skin , which is replaced by a dark shade of tan after a few hours. During summer season most of us accept tan and sunburns as our constant companion. In this write up, we will provide you with simple home remedies that have to be followed regularly so that you get back to your natural complexion expeditiously and fight the sunburns.
9 Home Remedies For Sunburn
Juicy Tomatoes
Tomato has skin cooling properties. The best thing about using it is that you need not necessarily prepare a pack out of it. When used in salads or for food preparation, we tend to slice off the top most part of tomato as waste. From now on instead of chucking it into dustbin, just rub the juicy side on your burned skin. Do it every time you slice a tomato. Ideally two times in a day should be enough.
This trick works well for regular every day tan and sunburn. However, if you have heavy sunburns then take out the tomato pulp, add a few drops of lemon and a teaspoon of gram flour. Apply this pack on your face. Let it dry for half an hour and wash off.
Lemon Touch
Lemon has cooling and skin brightening properties. It basically acts like a natural bleach without the side effects that come along with commercial bleaching agents. If you have dry skin then refrain from using lemon in an undiluted state or directly on the skin. Mix it with some olive or baby oil.
Apply this oil lemon mixture on your face as a very thin layer. You need not even wash it off if it does not give out an oily shine on the face. If you have to wash it off, just use water.
