Edema is a condition characterized by swelling of the body caused by fluid retention or fluid accumulation in the tissues beneath the skin. The legs and feet are the most common targets.
The condition can sometimes indicate the presence of other diseases or ailments, which include liver cirrhosis. But, in general, edema can be caused due to some allergies, standing for long time, poor blood circulation and injuries. Following are some of the most effective natural remedies for edema.

Dietary and Lifestyle Changes
Excessive salt intake can worsen the condition of edema. Therefore, you must cut down your salt intake to as low as possible. Smoking and alcohol should also be avoided for the same reason.
In addition to that, you are also advised to increase your intake of leafy and fibrous vegetables. Remember, edema is not a disease but a symptom that indicates that there is something wrong with the functions of the body. If edema is not cured within 2-3 days, you must consult your doctor.
