5 Herbs For Gum Pain

A Physical injury to the gum or gum diseases like periodontitis and gingivitis results in the soaring gum and acute gum pain.  Tenderness, redness, inflammation of the gum also accompanies gum pain if it is caused by fungal, bacterial or viral infection.

Clove

Clove is used as the best natural herb in curing gum pain and infection because of its antiseptic , antifungal, anesthetic and antibacterial properties.  Clove eases the paining gum by numbing the affected area .  The regular use of clove reduces the infection and soreness. Apply clove oil using a sterile cotton swab on the gums softly.  This may cause some burning sensation.  However, clove oil does have an anti-inflammatory effect which will help in relieving the pain.  If a burning sensation is intolerable, then dilute clove oil  with some olive oil and massage it on your gums using your fingers.

Yogurt

White plain yogurt can kill harmful bacteria present in the mouth.  When suffering from severe gum pain eating solid foods will be difficult. So eat plenty of plain white yogurt. Yogurt besides its nutritional benefit helps in the  soothing of painful gums.   Alternatively, you can also take a little yogurt on your finger and massage it all over the gum to have a soothing effect.

Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera belongs to Liliaceae family.  Pharmacological actions of Aloe Vera include anti-inflammatory,  antifungal,  antibacterial, antiviral, producing  hypoglycemic effect  and  as well as a good antioxidant. Aloe Vera is used in treating dental diseases in multiple ways.  Aloe Vera is a powerful healer.  Apply Aloe Vera gel where sores are located on the gums directly.  This application gives a soothing effect immediately,  and it helps in healing of gum pain as well as infection very fast.  After applying Aloe Vera gel do not consume anything  for one hour.

Pomegranate Rind And Indian Pennywort

Pomegranate rind (Punica granatum) is an effective anti-inflammatory having high tannin content and Indian pennywort (Centella asiatica) has a wound healing property.  When combined, these herbs are a useful remedy for treating chronic periodontitis. Mix Dry powder of Pomegranate rind and Indian pennywort in equal proportions and apply topically on the paining gum.  Allow it for 10 minutes and rinse the gum with warm water.  This treats gum infection very fast .  Alternatively brushing with dry  pomegranate rind kills the bacteria on the gums and cures the infection.

Strawberry And lemon Juice

Using of strawberries and Lemon juice helps in treating the infection faster.  Strawberries and Lemon both are rich in vitamin c, which helps in getting rid of the infection.  Crush 3-4 Strawberries into a paste and add about a tablespoon of organic lemon juice.  Using a soft toothbrush, brush on your gums.  Leave it for two minutes, and then rinse your mouth with warm water.
